Sometime in the very near future I will be unleashing sculptures. I have begun brainstorming, drawing, sketching and conjuring up a series of super-pop art sculptures. Hello! Hola! Haykuykuy!

Right after I unleashed this book, 

I decided I should take a much needed break from focusing non-stop. I've been spending my time regenerating my soul with music, films, books, Star Trek, KISS and DOOM. 

Originally, I planed on continuing with my super-focus mode after completing my Quechua book, but I have come to the realization that it would be better if I took some time off. 

You see, my next move is to create some pretty big, Big, BIg, BIG, HUGE: 5ft x 4ft - 60" x 48" surreal pop-art paintings and other sizes, of course. I'm hoping to be fully energized before the year is over so that way I can totally conjure up, display, and sell this next art series.

Please continue to indulge in music, books, films, games and other super-creative stuff. There is so much art out there for you to appreciate and admire. There's nothing quite like stimulating your mind with art.

Quechua • Runa Simi

The three main languages in Perú are Spanish, Quechua (Runa Simi) and Aymara. Perú is home to an abundance of indigenous languages. For someone who loves overloading on (useful) information, and thrives on always learning something new, knowing that Perú is home to a plethora of indigenous languages fills me with so much joy.

These days, I've been learning a lot of words and phrase in Quechua. It's taken me roughly one full week to learn about 10-15 words and phrases. Once I reach the one week point, all the Quechua I was leaning just comes to me naturally. Today would be the one week mark, and without having to force myself, I'm going to reload and learn a whole new set of words and phrases. I've learned to just let my subconscious and my thirst for knowledge lead the way.

You see, in Perú, we use a lot of words or phrases in Quechua in our daily life when we speak Spanish. So, learning Quechua has been a super-enjoyable, satisfying and wondrous experience. 

Once I've fully downloaded as much Quechua into my heart, soul and mind, I will proceed to learn as much Aymara as I can.

*I don't find it odd at all, but outrageously natural that I can randomly enjoy and savor the taste of a Cherry or Vanilla Coke, and can pretty much have Beef Jerky for breakfast, lunch and diner. Both, Coca and Jerky, originally come from the Quechua words: Cuca (Coca-Cola used coca leaf extract in its products from 1885 and until about 1903) and Ch'arki (a Quechua word from dried alpaca or llama meat).

I'm currently reading two amazingly important and heartbreaking books: Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West by Dee Brown and The Last of the Incas: The Rise and Fall of an American Empire by Edward Hyams and George Ordish.

 

I'm currently listening to all the 

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind soundtracks.

ART GALLERY + Under Construction

As you may have noticed, the art gallery section of the website is under construction.

When all is properly arranged, organized and coordinated, the gallery will be fully operational. 

In the meantime, I've been saving the weekends for creating art on cardboard (& other surfaces): Cardboard Canvas + Gesso + Acrylic Paint + Sharpie Marker & whatever may be lying around = ART. 

Sure, canvas is neat to create on, but cardboard reminds me to . . .

Hello + Hola!

I've been on a break from creating non-stop. It's not a vacation I've been on, but rather, a much needed break from constantly overloading my heart, soul + mind with new visions and sounds that wish to be fleshed out and brought to life. 

I have been overdosing on non-stop Hong Kong Cinema, Samurai films, Anime and Tokusatsu films while on this much needed soul regenerating break. I can proudly say that after all these years I'm still a huge Bruce Lee, Donnie Yen, Hideaki Anno, Guyver, Fist of The North Star, Ultraman, and Godzilla fan! 

*I CANNOT get enough of Yuen Woo-ping and Eiji Tsuburaya's cinematic art.

Yes, there is a new Video-Art piece, Dead Time Configuration, that will be released sometime this year. I really wish I could give you an exact release date, but this new work is quite an undertaking-unlike any other video-art I have done.
